-On a gloriously sunny Wednesday mid May 2015 members enjoyed a wonderful day out in the National Trust owned Village and Abbey of Lacock in Wiltshire.+====== News and Reports ======

-Lacock village is famous for its picturesque streets, historic buildings and more recently as a TV and film location.+{{blog>news?4}}

-The Abbey is located at the heart of the village within its own woodland grounds. It is quirky country house of various architectural styles, built upon the foundations of a former nunnery. We experienced the atmosphere of the medieval rooms and cloister court, and enjoyed catching a glimpse of the Abbey's monastic past. +See the [[archive]] for list of all news items.

-There is also a museum which celebrates the achievements of former Lacock resident, William Henry Fox Talbot, famous for his contribution to the invention of photography. Unfortunately for us there was structural work going on so we were only able to view the ground floor exhibits. However, when the work is completed there will be a lift to the second floor thereby making it accessible to those who are unable to climb stairs. +
